James had been friends with the Golightly family that represents a mother and father, a young child, and the sixteen year old sister of the father of the family for a while but it was mainly through the mother who came from a rich family but got disowned when she became pregnant with someone's child who isn't one of the rich brats. But that didn't bother James one bit in the slightest as he remains friends with her and her husband, every so often they would either go out for a meal and take turns in paying for the meal or have a home cooked meal at one of there homes. This time it is going to be a meal in the Golightly family's home. So here James is in his room looking at his clothes to find some clothes to wear to the meal.
"I need something that says I come from a rich family but doesn't rub it in there faces." James thought as he turned to his bed that has a few different kind of clothing. James ended up picking a red striped shirt, black trousers, black shoes, a black jacket and a white tie. James took his wallet, keys and phone and shoved them into his pocket. He then walked out of his home and got into his sports car to drive to his destination. Along the way he stopped of at a shop and walked in and looked at the bottles of wine. "Excuse me, I am on my way to a dinner at a friend's house with her, her husband, her child and her husband's sister and I was wondering what bottle of wine would you recommend?" James asks.
Not long after James got into his car with a bottle of red and white whine and drove to the home. He got out and walked up to the door and is about to knock on the door but he then realizes that he forgot the two bottles of wine. James quickly went back to his car, took the two bottles of wine, locked his car and then went back up to the door and knocked hoping that he wasn't to late since he had spent a while in the shop to get the two bottles of wine. After a while Lola's brother answered the door, "Hey I brought two bottles of wine with me." James said as he walked into the kitchen and then went into the living room. A while later the group got called to the table so he took a seat and waited to see what meal they are having this time.

Normally, Lola wasn't around too often when it came to having dinner with Claudine and Mason's friends. Better yet, scratch that and make it Claudine's friends. It was becoming increasingly apparent that Claudine disliked Lola, for reasons she would never understand, or maybe she was simply embarassed by Lola considering Lola was absolutely nothing like how Claudine was at her age. Maybe she felt compelled to take care of her? Either way, Lola wasn't your average sixteen year old. She tended to dress more simplistic and, in a way, like a guy. She liked tight jeans, sure, but with a baggy tee shirt or oversized sweater. She preferred flats and sneakers to pumps and any type of shoe that could be used to stab someone with the heel. So when Lola walked up the front steps to their two bedroom apartment, she took all of this into consideration. She knew, vaguely, who James was. She'd met him a handful of times but it had never been anything significant. She'd always been too involved with dancing and the academy, with her studies or going to work to really have any basis of a conversation with anyone. Her social awkwardness probably didn't help matters either. She took out her keys and opened the forest colored door with the number 15 in gold lettering on it before going up the extra steps and unlocking their apartment door that had 15 B written on it. They had an enclosed porch, which was nice, along with a small kitchen, hybrid living room/dining room, and then a hallway that lead to two bedrooms and one bathroom. Getting that bathroom in the morning was honestly a nightmare. Everyone was chattering away in the living room when she walked in, giving a brief hello in that New England accent of hers as she took off her oversized navy knitted cardigan to reveal an outfit that wasn't amazing by any means: skin tight black skinny jeans (extra low rise), a plain white tee that had the neck too wide so it ever so slightly hung off her one thin shoulder, showing off a black bra strap, and pale coral colored flats because all of that, magically, made sense in her head that morning. "I had the chicken marinating since this morning," Lola said softly, in that usual voice of hers, as she was half dragged into the kitchen by Claudine while everyone was in the living room, "It's just Chicken Piccata," she half mumbled as she started serving the plates without skipping a beat since Liam was clinging to her long legs and Claudine had to go get him in his chair while Mason entertained James. She put the plates on the round table that was in their hybrid dining room and then everyone sat around, Lola taking over with Liam in order to give Mason and Claudine a break. "Lola got advanced placement in her ballet class," Mason said this randomly, with a sense of pride, and Lola looked up from what she was doing, cutting Liam's chicken, and for some reason her eyes went from Mason to James and she felt her cheeks turn red, "It isn't a big deal, really," she said quietly, "It's ballet fused with other forms of dance," she couldn't help but explain - though it was, really, an advanced and difficult class, she had been bumped up into it just a few days ago. James did have to wonder on even though he goes and has a meal with Mason's family why Claudine always makes Mason's younger sister Lola feel like shit, is it because Claudine dislikes Lola for some reason or is it something simply because Claudine and Mason's are the ones who has to look after Lola. Another thing that did bother James was the way poor not well of people dress as some of them dress like they are rich with knock off of designer clothes, while others dress like they don't care what other people think of them, like the way Lola dresses from when he has seen her when she is not busy, what is a simple set of clothes what are a pair of jeans, a top and a pair of flats or sneakers. To James it seems that Lola is either trying to get someone's attention or she is someone who likes to sleep around and get paid... what are they called again... James quickly shook his head as it didn't really matter since Lola doesn't seem like that kind of girl who would sleep with multiple people.
James' gaze turned to the front door of Mason's home when he heard keys going into the lock and unlocking it before the form of Lola appeared wearing what she usually wears when ever he sees her. James' gaze turned back to the home as he continued talking to Mason and Claudine. He did feel sorry for the Golightly family since they have a very basic home. James turned to look at Lola when she greeted everyone. "Hey there Lola." James said politely before he turned back and continued his convocation with Mason and Claudine, they where talking about a party his parents are having soon so he was inviting them to come along as it would be fun for them to have some time away from there son.
James raised an eye brow slightly when he heard what was done to the chicken since the morning. "What kind of meal are we having that needs the chicken to be marinating since the morning?" James thought as he also went through the different chicken recipe's that he knows in his head. James let out a little sigh of relief when he over heard Lola's half mumble of what they are eating. "I have never actually had a home made Chicken Piccata." Nate said proudly as he would always finish what ever food was put in front of him self. James' eye traveled down Lola's appearance when she noticed that Lola was moving with out much complaint, he then noticed Liam holding onto her legs so he smirked slightly before he turned back to the meal in front of him. "It must be nice to be able to have a family meal with the whole family." James said as a half happy smiled since it wasn't that often his family had a meal together since his parents was mainly busy so it was just him and his younger brother being served food by there servants.
"That sounds like a hard thing to do, since I have been to watch the ballet a few times and that looked hard even though it was with professional performers." James said proud of his friend's sister's achievement. James smiled at Lola proudly when she looked up and looked at her brother and then James before her cheeks turned red but he paid no attention. "It sounds like a big deal Lola, you should be proud of the things you accomplish on your own, as who knows what you would be able to do in the future as you job." James said. James laughed slightly before he smiled at what Lola had said next. "Most forms of dance take years to master, even at a basic stage, so you should be proud to be in advance class when it is all different types of dancing involved." James said as he started to cut up his food.

Her mother used to dress her up in pretty little sundresses with patent mary janes or flats with her hair done up in a high pony tail in the summers from how thick and shiny her hair was or in long curls with ribbons in the winters. She used to always look like a little toy doll but when All the Evil happened, Lola stopped thinking so much about her appearance, and about those sundresses and ribbons. She couldn't afford them anyway, the older she became, and it was easier to just go with simple jeans and t shirts even though, on occasion, she did where the odd dress or skirt to look a little more feminine. But when Lola got dolled up, boy was she a looker. Her long legs and curvy figure with that itty bitty waist (despite her slightly concave stomach) made for one very delicious looking sixteen year old. Last thing she needed, though, was to draw attention to herself. She figured the outfits she normally wore, aside from what she practiced in, would keep the attention away from her and onto someone or something else much more interesting. An argument could be made of the opposite however - that all she wanted was attention. Really? Lola didn't want it or have a need for it. She was perfectly okay living in her own bubble. Lola actually winced at the mention of a whole family having dinner together, as if the words actually caused physical harm to her. Mason looked over at her and it was as if they were communicating through eye contact but they said nothing. Claudine, Mason, and Liam were a family. Lola was simply the aunt - and Claudine tended to make it seem like she was their nanny or something or just a room mate so she didn't feel very much so like part of the family...even if Mason did move all of them here so she could attend the academy when she'd gotten accepted on scholarship. "I guess..." she felt her voice trailed off, caught off guard by the sudden praise from James. She didn't expect such things and her cheeks seemed to remain in their blushing tones no matter how hard she tried to keep from doing so. She disliked the spotlight the majority of the times and her brother used to tell her she was too humble. The only time she liked attention was when she was dancing - where the attention was a necessity in the fueling of her freedom through dance, "Ooh! Wine! Let's crack open a bottle!" Claudine quickly chirped in and for once, Lola was grateful for it since she knew she'd end up rambling away about the types of dances they'd be fine tuning and learning about which would probably bore the entire table to death. But the mention of alcohol, well, wine, totally wasn't something Lola expected though she should have. Claudine and Mason used to be heavy drinkers, though she'd been noticing both of them slowly slipping back into their old habits again. Anything with alcohol in its contents became their best friends. Claudine poured a nice and full glass for everyone, Lola included, though she was hesitant to drink it. Mason didn't seem to have a problem with it so Lola shrugged. She had drank alcohol before but it had been something simple like beer and after two of them, she couldn't drink anymore without getting tipsy. One beer queer. Oh the life of a wallflower. But the wine was sweet so before she was even two thirds of the way done with her food, she was already more than halfway done with her glass. "F**k." James mumbled quietly so no one heard him when he noticed Lola wince when he mentioned the whole family having dinner together, Nate had noticed how Claudine treats Lola so why did he have to bring it up. "I'll have to apologize to her away from Claudine or when they are alone." James thought not sure if he would even get the chance as he will be talking to Mason and Claudine for most of the night.
"You are a confusing person Lola, most females I know who go to the Academy, likes to show off there achievements but you don't." James said as he raised an eye brow not really sure what to make of it and if he should really be concerned. James bit his lower lip as he noticed Lola was still blushing from him complimenting her. "Man I never really realized how cute Lola is when she is blushing, but I wouldn't try anything as I would get battered by Mason for trying anything with his younger sister." James thought. James quickly looked away when Claudine brought up that the wine wasn't opened yet. "That is a good idea, Claudine." Nate said as he looked at the time and saw that it was still fairly early. "I guess I can have one or two glasses during dinner." James said as he shrugged slightly.
James smiled at Claudine when she poured him a full glass for everyone and handed his glass to him. "Thank you Claudine." James said. One thing James wouldn't turn down was alcohol but since he is going to be driving home he will have to watch how much he drinks because if he drinks more than he is planning to he will either have to walk home only to collect his car in the morning or hope that Mason invites him to stay over for the night. James noticed that Lola also had a glass, but he did have to wonder on what kind of drinker Lola is since he hasn't seen her drinking any kind of alcohol at any of the meals they have been together. After finishing his meal and two glasses of wine after he noticed Claudine getting up to do the dishes. "Leave them, Claudine, you lot made the meal so let me do the washing." James said as he stood up when Claudine agreed. He then started to take the dishes out to the kitchen until they where all in there and he then started to wash them in the sink.

By the time their meal was over, Lola had finished her glass of wine (on the prompting of Mason who either kept pretending to make a toast so she'd finish it or whispering to her that she better not make it go to waste). She was already feeling a bit light headed, completely and entirely not used to having any form of alcohol in her system. She normally ate "clean", so to speak. Very healthy, for a teenager at least, and whenever asked why she did that, it was because it kept her mind clear and her body healthy inside and out so there would be less of a risk of her getting sick and somehow missing out on anything that had to do with her dance classes. She was ridiculously driven, probably in order to somehow make Claudine proud of her in some kind of way. She did look up to her as an older sister and she didn't want Liam to have a horrible role model since she was the little boy's godmother. Always too busy thinking of others. Silly Lola. So when it was time to do the dishes, Lola was about to get up with Claudine when James seemed to take over. She was halfway to getting out of her chair when she froze, as if completely caught off guard that he would want to do the dishes. She, personally, was used to doing them or at least helping Claudine or Mason do them. So she hesitated before she started grabbing the glasses off the table while Mason and Claudine went off to get Liam ready for bed which, when they had a guest over, was always a two person job. Heading into the kitchen, she gingerly put the glasses in the sink and then grabbed a small towel to dry the dishes to put them away. Standing next to him, she slightly leaned against the counter to keep herself much more steady. Too much wine. One glass was most definitely too much wine. Pity, "Thank you, by the way," at least her words weren't slurred. Okay, she wasn't drunk. Good sign. She was just tipsy - though that wasn't a good sign, "for the compliments," she added after a bit of a pause, in case he had no idea what she was talking about, "I'm not very used to..." she paused, as if trying to figure out how to word it as she dried off a plate, "that kind of stuff," which was true. Granted Mason did tell her every now and again he was proud of her - but he was her brother. It was almost expected for him to say something like that. When it comes from someone she doesn't see often, someone she doesn't even know that well - it means a whole lot more on some odd level. Like she achieved someone's admiration and notice. Maybe she wasn't so much of a wall flower after all. NOTES:outfit found here.this template was created by lip/twiggy! do not steal! [/sup]

James did have to admit that it was quite amusing how Mason was prompting Lola to drink the wine by making a toast. "You shouldn't be forcing her to down a drink, Mason as that will just make someone who I am guessing doesn't drink or rarely drinks to become drunk much faster what isn't really a good idea since drunkenness leads to all sorts of accidents." James said as he raised an eye brow wondering why Mason was trying to make Lola to finish the glass of wine.
While he walks towards the kitchen he hears some of the glasses clattering together so he just assumed that one of the others was either getting the glasses together and leaving them on the table or are getting the glasses together and bringing them in to the kitchen for him to wash. Then he heard two sets of foot steps going up the stairs "I guess Liam is of the bed then." James said with a slight shrug of his shoulders.
He turned to look when the glasses got put into the sink, he saw that it was Lola who picks up a small towel and started to dry the dishes. "You know you don't have to be helping me with the dishes, Lola. Since you lot prepared and made the meal so this is the least I can do." James said as he continued to wash the dishes and pass them to Lola to dry. James raised an eye brow when Lola thanked him for some reason. "What..." James said but then Lola added on what for. "If someone works hard in her classes I think they deserve compliments to be given to them." James said as he shrugged his soldiers slightly. "Lola you are just to shy, you could be or do anything you wanted to do, but with your shyness you just find it hard to get your point across." James said. "So Lola are there any special guys or gals in your life?" James asked not wanting to ask it in front of Mason in case there is who Lola doesn't want her brother to know about.

Her eyes wavered, looking down at the dishes she was drying, putting them into a pile before she'd have to inevitably put them away. She didn't know what exactly to say about her shyness. She knew when she was younger, she wasn't like this. In the few home videos they were allowed to keep that weren't confiscated for evidence, she was always very loud and energetic, very much so polite but friendly and outgoing. They shyness didn't come until that last dinner the family had where All The Evil happened. Before being put into the foster care system, some psychiatrist had told her it was simply Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and it would go away with time since she was so young. It was simply the shock of seeing and having gone through what she'd gone through. It wasn't really shyness, as she'd been told, it was fear of the impossible becoming possible. Which was probably why Mason kept pushing for her to drink. It brought out the old Lola; the Lola that was much more reckless, that was loose and energetic and liked to have fun. So when James asked her if there was anyone special in her life, she didn't hesitate to answer, "Special? I've never even kissed a guy before much less have someone special," and it wasn't until after she said it that she momentarily stopped what she was doing and felt her cheeks burn. Did she really just admit that? It had to be the wine talking. She was a train wreck. Seriously. "I mean, it isn't a big deal," she could feel herself quietly rambling a bit, "It isn't the end of the world not to have your first kiss before sixteen..." she looked up at him as if hoping he could somehow give her some peace of mind, "right?"NOTES:outfit found here.this template was created by lip/twiggy! do not steal!
